How to check paper weight GSM
To check the GSM (grams per square meter) of a paper, you can follow these steps:
- Find a scale that can measure in grams.
- Cut a piece of paper with a known size, such as 10cm x 10cm or 8.5in x 11in.
- Weigh the piece of paper using the scale.
- Calculate the GSM by dividing the weight of the paper by the area of the paper. For example, if the paper weighs 5 grams and the size is 10cm x 10cm (0.1m x 0.1m = 0.01 square meters), then the GSM would be 5 / 0.01 = 500 GSM.
Alternatively, you can also look for the GSM information on the packaging or label of the paper, as it is often printed on it.
